In 2025, Shanghai Shengkui Plastic Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Shengkui") celebrated its 20th anniversary as a milestone! Research topic
In 2016, the Executive Committee meeting of the Multilateral Fund of the Montreal Protocol approved the HCFCs elimination management plan for China's extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam industry. Shanghai Shengkui submitted the Application for HCFCs Elimination Project for Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) foam Industry to the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Ecological Environment. After the completion of this project, it can reduce emissions of ozone depleting substances by 180 tons per year, and at the same time, reduce greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 330000 tons of carbon dioxide per year, with significant environmental benefits.

In 2022, Shanghai Shengkui, as one of the main completion units, participated in the "13th Five Year National Key R&D Plan Project" - "Theory and Method of Durability and Functional Coordination Design of Typical Climate Zone Enclosure Materials", and won the second prize of the "Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Award", which represents the most valuable social science and technology award in the field of housing and urban-rural construction in China. In 2024, Shanghai Shengkui, as one of the main completion units, participated in the "14th Five Year National Key R&D Plan Project" - "Technical System and Engineering Application of External Wall Repair of Existing Buildings", and once again won the second prize of the "Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Award".

In October 2019, Shanghai Shengkui participated as one of the main completion units in the social development technology field project of Shanghai's 2019 "Science and Technology Innovation Action Plan" - "Research and Demonstration of Building Energy saving New Materials and Application Technologies for Urban Organic Renewal". This project is based on the demand for organic renewal and renovation of existing urban building exterior walls, with a focus on energy-saving new materials and systems for building renewal, and integrated technology for exterior wall renovation. It conducts in-depth research on scientific issues and key technologies, promotes the development process of existing building renovation, and promotes sustainable and strategic development.

In September 2020, in order to seek new flame retardant solutions for XPS and EPS, research and develop new environmentally friendly flame retardants, and study their flame retardant properties and related properties on XPS and EPS boards, Shanghai Shengkui participated as one of the main completion units in the Shanghai 2020 "Science and Technology Innovation Action Plan" social development technology research and development project - "Research and Application of New Environmentally Friendly Foaming Flame retardants". The new environmentally friendly flame retardant developed in this project is applied in XPS/EPS boards, producing XPS/EPS boards that meet national standards, achieving efficient flame retardancy, thermal insulation, and environmental friendliness.

School enterprise cooperation
Shanghai Shengkui, relying on its own technological strength and production experience, has vigorously carried out industry university research linkage for many years. It has reached strategic cooperation agreements with authoritative institutions, design institutes, and professional colleges such as China Construction Science and Technology Group, Shanghai Academy of Construction Sciences, Fudan University, Shanghai University, Tongji University, Shanghai Second University of Technology, Dalian University of Technology, etc., and established joint research and development bases/centers to deeply develop industry university research linkage technology. Research topics include "Ultra low energy consumption residential technology in hot summer and cold winter areas", "Research on non dismantling and concrete interface performance", "Application technical specifications for integrated insulation exterior wall panels in hot summer and cold winter areas", etc.
