Recently, the list of winning projects of the "Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Award" in 2024, the most prestigious social science and technology award in the field of housing and urban-rural construction in China, was officially announced. A total of 200 projects were honored this time, among which there was 1 special award, 29 first-class awards, 60 second-class awards, and 110 third-class awards.

Shanghai Shengkui Plastics Industry Co., Ltd., serving as one of the principal completion entities, participated in the research project titled "Technical System and Engineering Application for the Restoration of Existing Building Exterior Walls". This project has once again been honored with the Second Prize of the Huaxia Science and Technology Award. Centering on the significant social requirements for the restoration of existing building exterior walls, and aiming at the technical bottlenecks encountered in this field, a technological research and development effort spanning 14 years was conducted. A series of comprehensive technologies have been developed, including the degradation mechanism and collaborative design theory regarding the durability of existing building exterior wall systems and materials, diagnostic techniques for wall defects and methods for evaluating quality conditions, as well as a multi-level restoration technology system tailored to diverse scenarios and requirements. These technologies offer a scientific theoretical foundation and a complete set of innovative techniques for the restoration of existing building exterior walls. They have filled multiple domestic and international technological voids, led the technological advancement within the industry, ensured the safe operation and maintenance of cities, enhanced the living quality of residents, reduced carbon emissions over the entire life cycle of buildings, and facilitated the sustainable development of the construction sector.

The project has obtained 58 authorized patents of independent intellectual property rights, published 5 monographs, and formulated 15 related standards. The overall research achievements have reached the international advanced level. The project results have been successfully applied in over 200 restoration projects in 17 provinces and cities including Shanghai, Tianjin, Anhui, Jiangxi and Shaanxi, covering an area of more than 16 million square meters, achieving remarkable social, environmental and economic benefits.
